AEROSYSTEM SHAPING

This aerodynamic design process treats the entire bike and rider as one dynamic system – rather than optimising individual frames or components in isolation. Using computational fluid dynamics (CFD), wind-tunnel testing, and yaw-angle analysis, engineers study how air flows around a moving bike and rider in real-world conditions. With a focus on reducing total system drag and resistance, the new Propel range represents our most advanced expression of this process.

WHEELS UP

The WheelSystems and tyres across the Propel range are optimised as part of an overall system that turns aerodynamic efficiency into real-road control. The new SLR 0 (on Propel Advanced Pro 0 DA/Di2/AXS) and SLR 1 (on Propel Advanced Pro 1 Di2/AXS) 50 WheelSystems are built for speed. The 50mm hookless carbon rims minimise drag to maintain momentum and confident handling in crosswinds. With the SLR 0 pushing weight and efficiency even further, the SLR 50 series offers a fast, responsive, and confidence-inspiring ride.

STREAMLINED COCKPIT

One of the key innovations on the new Propel is its one-piece integrated handlebar/stem design. The range features race-focused cockpits, including the one-piece Contact SLR Aero (on the Propel Advanced Pro range) and the streamlined Contact SL Aero (on the Propel Advanced range), both designed to narrow the rider's frontal area and slice through the wind. New geometry, ports, and channels keep cables hidden from the wind while allowing for easy adjustability.

STAY FRESH, STAY FAST

Ride further, faster with a seat that absorbs road vibrations. A reengineered seat tube, chainstays, and Vector seatpost work together to improve vertical compliance by up to 25%. This significantly reduces road shocks and vibrations at the rear end of the bike, giving you a smooth, efficient ride with less fatigue during long days in the saddle.

TOTAL POWER TRANSFER

Through the synergy of lightweight engineering and optimised stiffness, the new Propel’s cockpit and WheelSystems are engineered for total power transfer. Across the entire range, this system approach ensures that every watt you produce is converted into instant forward motion with the Advanced Pro boasting a 1.4% increase in handling and a 2.7% boost in pedalling efficiency.
